AI Assessment

A short multi-question AI readiness assessment that generates a personalized opportunity report. Built into the Whispering AI website.

Take the Assessment

The problem

Every sales conversation started the same way: "Where should we start with AI?" The answer is different for every company, but the discovery process to figure it out took hours of meetings. We needed a way to give people instant, personalized insight before the first call.

What we built

A short multi-question assessment that asks about your role, industry, pain points, and AI experience level. The AI analyzes your responses and generates a structured report with ranked opportunities, category breakdowns, and a recommended first move.

The whole tool was built in two hours. Over 200 people have used it, and it consistently surfaces opportunities that surprise the people taking it.

Features
What it does
Multi-question assessment
Role, industry, pain points, detail level, and AI experience. Takes under 3 minutes.
AI-generated report
Personalized opportunity analysis with ranked recommendations and category breakdowns.
Processing animation
Staged 10-second animation showing the AI working through the analysis.
Lead capture at action point
Email collected when they want the report, not upfront. Fair trade, not a gate.
PDF download and sharing
Download the report or share it with colleagues via a unique link.
Process
How we built it
1
Defined the 5 questions that matter
Tested dozens of question combinations. Found that role + industry + pain points + detail + experience level covers 90% of what you need.
2
Designed the report structure
Understanding section, ranked opportunities with metrics, category breakdowns, and a single recommended first move.
3
Built the AI prompt architecture
Claude API with structured JSON output. The prompt includes industry-specific knowledge and scoring logic.
4
Created the processing animation
10-second staged animation that shows the AI working through the analysis. Builds anticipation and trust.
5
Added lead capture and sharing
Email report, download PDF, share with colleagues. Name and email captured at the action point, not upfront.
Reflections
What we took away from this project.
What went wrong
The first version asked too many questions. People abandoned at question 7. Cutting to 5 doubled completion rates.
What went right
The lead capture placement was perfect. Asking for email when they want the report (not before) feels like a fair trade, not a gate.
What we learned
AI assessments work best when the questions are broad enough to be fast but specific enough that the AI has real signal to work with.
